Jo Rhomeo - 'Tears of rain'

Within this project I was the videographer, editor and director. The artist Jo Rhomeo wanted me to capture the raw and powerful emotions, to complement the emotions I came up with an idea which involved another person always in the background holding an umbrella. Even though we had no rain the umbrella acted as a catalist to insinuate that its all a metaphorical ‘Tears of rain’ but also never showing his face indicating that its his future self watching over his past self as the end twist is him killing his past life.

For the props we used a longboard which Jo Rhomeo was laying on while getting dragged in the video as well as a back support with a strap to give the other person who is dragging him a handle to hold on to; creating the illusion that Jo Rhomeo was actually being dragged on the floor at a fast pace. We also used fake blood mixed with coffee granules to make the cuts look a lot more convincing.

I filmed this all on my Fujifilm XT3 with the 18-55mm and 35mm lenses. I also used two of my Pixapro L.E.D lights and this was all filmed on Davinci Resolve (2021)
